Qualifications
The Vice President of Global Safety and Security is the senior enterprise leader responsible for shaping and executing a cohesive global strategy to protect people, property, brand reputation, and business continuity across a diverse global portfolio. This role drives the development and execution of integrated risk frameworks.
Serving as the strategic and tactical anchor for safety and security, the VP partners across brands, regions and functions-including Operations, Asset Management & Development, Legal, Compliance, HR, Technology, and Insurance-to enable business growth while proactively managing complex and evolving operational risks. This leader is accountable for aligning risk mitigation capabilities from the executive level to the property level and ensuring scalable, measurable, and locally adaptable solutions that support owner confidence, regulatory compliance, and guest trust.
• Lead the development and execution of a global safety and physical security strategy aligned with the company's enterprise risk framework, purpose, and growth objectives.
• Serve as executive owner of the Operational Risk Register for material threats to people, operations, and business continuity.
• Build and implement a global risk maturity model, guiding enterprise capability across managed, franchised, owned, and joint venture operations.
• Oversee end-to-end physical security and life safety programs, including access control, threat intelligence, surveillance, investigations, emergency protocols, and contractor security.
• Lead the global crisis management and emergency response framework in partnership with Legal, Ops, and Corporate Communications.
• Direct the operations of a 24/7 GSOC, travel risk management, high-risk event protocols, and executive protection.
• Collaborate with Development and Sales to support safe and strategic market entry, including due diligence, site assessments, and risk-based mitigation strategies.
• Partner with Operations, Design, and Engineering to integrate safety and security standards into property development and renovation.
• Develop owner-facing resources and frameworks to build owner trust and support compliance with global safety and security standards.
• Leverage incident data, intelligence feeds, and emerging technologies to monitor global threat landscapes and support predictive risk modeling.
• Oversee the evaluation and implementation of safety and security technology platforms.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting tools to track progress, measure risk maturity, and guide resource allocation.
• Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing, globally distributed safety and security team across brands, regions and functional lines.
• Serve as the primary escalation point and trusted advisor to senior leadership, brand and regional presidents during critical incidents or high-profile exposures
Qualifications
Experience Required:
• 15+ years in senior-level operational risk, security, or safety leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in both strategic risk planning and tactical/field-level risk mitigation.
• Experience managing global or multi-region teams in high-risk or decentralized environments.
Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Preferred: CPP or related security professional certification (PSP, CFE, etc.).
Experience Preferred:
• Security or Risk Management Information System knowledge a plus
• Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Executive presence and decision-making in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to travel globally up to 50%.
• Strong collaboration skills across Risk, Legal, Ops, and HR.
• 24x7 availability to respond to any security threats or critical incidents

The salary range for this position is $181,500 - $242,000
The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
