Overview

Job Summary:
The Pro Shop Manager/Head Golf Professional will oversee all golf-related activities and business at the Town & Country Club. This role is dedicated to promoting the sport of golf and the club itself, while spreading hospitality and goodwill among members and guests to enhance their overall experience at the club.
This position is expected to clock a minimum of 40-50 hours/wk.

Seasonal employment anticipated March 1 through November 15

Experience Required

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience in golf operations and management.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• PGA certification and current with all PGA requirements.
• Previous experience in a similar role at a country club or golf course.
• Proven ability to develop and manage golf programs and events.
• Knowledge of inventory management and retail operations.

Essential Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

External:
1. Leagues & Tournaments:
o Organize and conduct Men's, Women's, and Couple's leagues and tournaments.
o Develop and manage Junior's programs.

2. Advisory:
o Advise the tournament and league committee on relevant matters.
o Report monthly at Board of Directors Meeting and at Membership Annual Meeting.

3. Collaboration:
o Cooperate and work closely with the golf course superintendent and event manager.

Internal:

1. Shop Management:
o Maintain the budget.
o Establish goals and policies for the golf shop.
o Staff the golf shop with the necessary personnel and train them in policy, procedure, service, and safety.
o Motivate and manage staff, conducting regular meetings.

2. Operations Oversight:
o Oversee all golf operations including shop operations, bag room and outside services, and the driving range.

3. Golf Shop Operations:
• Maintain a professionally stocked golf shop with quality inventory and handle sales, repairs, and services related to golf equipment, apparel, and golf carts.
• Open and manage the golf shop daily, depending on the season and weather.
• Provide or supervise all golf lessons and clinics.
• Stay current with all PGA requirements, including continuing education, seminars, and meetings.
• Manage starting times, collect greens fees, and ensure all guests abide by club regulations.

4. Bag Room and Outside Services:
• Hire, train, supervise, and schedule all bag room personnel.
• Maintain a fleet of rental carts for members and guests, ensuring they are clean and well maintained.
• Handle all maintenance, washing, oil checks, gasoline, and insurance for the carts.

5.Driving Range:
• Operate the driving range, providing range balls, and personnel.
