OverviewFlorence Country Club is a historic private club dedicated to providing members and their families with an exceptional experience, combining tradition, service, and modern amenities. The club features a championship golf course, tennis and pickleball facilities, swimming pool, dining options, and a vibrant calendar of social events.
We are seeking a General Manager who will bring leadership, structure, and professional administrative skill to our operations while maintaining the warmth and personal touch our members value.
The Club is currently seeking an experienced, highly organized General Manager to lead operations and guide its next era of growth and excellence.
Position Summary
The General Manager (GM) serves as the chief executive of Florence Country Club and is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational success of the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the GM manages a team of department heads overseeing golf, tennis, food & beverage, finance, and club administration.
This role calls for a strong administrator. Someone steady, detail-oriented, and effective at building systems and teams that deliver consistent, high-quality member experiences.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field
- Proven experience leading in a private club, resort, or hospitality environment.
- Exceptional administrative, financial, and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Technologically proficient with modern club management systems.
- A steady, dependable leader who values structure, order, and service consistency.
- Collaborative, approachable, and aligned with the club's culture of warmth and tradition.
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and staff, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and execution of strategic goals.
- Oversee all club operations including golf, tennis, dining, events, and facilities.
- Develop and manage the club's operating and capital budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
- Lead and develop department heads, fostering teamwork, accountability, and service excellence.
- Drive membership growth, engagement, and retention, ensuring the club remains vibrant and relevant.
- Maintain compliance with all legal, safety, and operational standards.
- Represent the club within the local community with professionalism and integrity.
