OverviewThe General Manager will be a dynamic and business-savvy leader, responsible for driving the overall success and long-term sustainability of Hillcrest Golf and Country Club. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in business operations, financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership and will manage all aspects of the club. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies that enhance member value, grow membership, and strengthen the club's financial performance. The General Manager will act as the primary ambassador of the club, maintaining strong relationships with members, staff, and the broader community, while ensuring operational excellence across all departments. Club Events and Engagement:
Hosts approximately 25 golf events annually
Annually hosts the Dakota Tour Tournament. 52 teams and golf professionals participating. Host SDGA Championship events.

Hillcrest Golf & Country Club has a clear maintenance strategy. We strive to offer consistent course conditions using current techniques and products. Meeting membership goals and satisfying plant health requirements are our main objectives. The turf maintenance team accomplishes these objectives by concentrating on four key areas; agronomic programs, preventative maintenance programs, irrigation systems, and training a skilled staff that understands and has a desire to meet the memberships goals. The Golf Pro Shop offers a friendly professional staff along with a full selection of equipment, clothing, accessories and more. The Shop also offers club repair, cart and club rental and storage and so much more to our members!
Hillcrest features golfing amenities such as special golfing events, Ladies and Men's days, Couples, Junior Golf Program and a Computer Swing Analysis.
Hillcrest Golf & Country Club was established in 1953 and opened for play in 1954. Throughout the years, it has developed into a championship 18-hole course that challenges the amateur and professional golfer alike. Aside from the great golfing, we have a first-class lounge, dining room and golf shop with friendly staff eager to be of service.
- In 2021, bent grass fairways were put in place of the blue grass fairway, making the fairways prestine.
- Renovation to 28 tee boxes in 2021.
- In 2023 a brand-new clubhouse was constructed at a cost of $7,000,000.
Experience Required
- 3 years in a leadership role within a private club, hospitality, service-oriented business, or similar business, with demonstrated success in business operations, finance, and strategic growth.
- PGA Membership and/or CMAA Membership a plus, but not required.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and hold staff accountable in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated success working with or on active Boards and Committees, with the ability to provide vision, influence, and sound business recommendations.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; effective at representing the club both internally and externally.
- TEAM BUILDER who has a history of attracting, developing and retaining a high-performance staff.
- Proven track record of elevating an already successful Food and Beverage and Clubhouse operation and taking it to the next level.
-  Experience in high volume, fine dining, casual dining, and ability to develop and 
 implement food and beverage cost controls. Proven experience and knowledge of proper table service, event set-up and event execution.
- Has an in-depth knowledge of wine, beer and spirits. Has a thorough knowledge of multi-dimensional a la carte dining services, training, and service standards and processes
Essential Responsibilities
- Implements general policies established by the Board of Directors; directs their administration and execution
- Promote and organize Social Events throughout the year (i.e. Kentucky Derby Party, Ladies Christmas Party, Pool Party, etc.)
- Provide support in addressing a wide range of projects, issues, or challenges as they arise.
- Lead all business and operational functions of the club, with a focus on financial performance, membership growth, and long-term sustainability.
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets; oversee cash flow, financial reporting, and expense controls.
- Establish and execute strategic plans that enhance member satisfaction, diversify revenue streams, and strengthen the club's brand.
- Build and maintain a strong membership pipeline through innovative sales, marketing, and community engagement strategies.
- Directly oversee and mentor all department heads, ensuring accountability and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Implement operational systems and service standards that maximize efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Leverage events, programs, and community partnerships to raise visibility and position the club as a premier lifestyle destination.
Benefits
• Base Salary: $90,000-$100,000
• Total Compensation: Up to $110,000
• Incentive/bonus (up to 10% of base salary)
• Health insurance (employee pays 20% of family insurance premium)
