Description
OverviewClub Description: The Sagamore Club is a private 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature designed course that is consistently recognized as one of the top courses in the state. The Club has a full-service Clubhouse with Ladies and Men's locker rooms, Trackman simulator, dining areas, a bar, outdoor pavillion, Jr. Olympic size pool along with a kid's zero-entry play pool, Fitness Center, and tennis/pickleball courts. We pride ourselves on offering a casual, rustic, resort-style feel. You'll find young families with numerous dependents and retired empty nesters with every other demographic in between using the Club. We create an experience each and every day for our members and guests to ensure we "make their day".
Practice facilities include a two-sided driving range with a chipping green on the back range. The club short game range will be undergoing a renovation in the spring of 2026 and set to open in the fall.
The club has 550 memberships with 28,000 rounds played in 2025. The club offers a full schedule of both golf and social events for members and hosts approximately 20 outside group outings. The golf staff includes 20+ full and part time employees including three assistant golf professionals and a part time merchandiser.
Experience Required
Qualifications
- PGA Class A member in good standing
- 5 years experience as a Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf preferred
- Strong hospitality mindset
- Experience in all aspects of golf operations including tournaments, budgeting/forecasting, merchandising and staff management
- Proven record of providing superior customer service to both members and guests
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Bachelors' degree preferred
Essential Responsibilities
Position Description: The Director of Golf/Assistant GM is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the golf operations as well as assisting the General Manager in the daily operations of the club while providing a high standard of hospitality to the members and guests. Repsonsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily golf operations and play
- Hiring, training and supervision of golf staff
- Promoting and coordinating member and outside tournaments
- Managing and promoting all golf activities and programs
- Direct involvement in the golf department budgeting and financials
- Interacting and playing golf with the members
