Description
OverviewThe Back Nine - Clarkston is an indoor year-round golf club focused on game improvement, social play, and community connection. We are seeking a Club Operator / Membership Sales Lead who is comfortable taking ownership of the membership growth process-meeting new players, touring guests, explaining membership value, and confidently asking for the signup.
This is a front-facing, relationship sales role with daily opportunities to convert walk-ins, demo users, league players, and referral guests into members. The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with golfers, guiding conversations, recommending the right membership tier, and following up to close.
Key responsibilities include greeting and onboarding guests, running facility operations, coordinating leagues and events, and leading membership tours. This role also includes the opportunity to teach lessons in our private Full Swing bay, with instructors retaining 70% of lesson revenue
Experience Required
• Comfortable leading membership tours and confident asking for the close
• Prior experience in a sales, coaching, membership, or guest-engagement role
• Ability to build rapport quickly and follow up consistently
• A genuine interest in helping golfers improve and join a supportive club community
• Strong communication and hospitality mindset
• Instruction experience preferred but not required (Full Swing bay + support provided)
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead membership tours, explain membership options, and confidently guide prospects to join the club
- Build relationships with guests, league players, and referral walk-ins to grow a strong, welcoming member community
- Convert demo sessions and trial users into active members through follow-up and value-based conversations
- Run daily club operations: opening/closing, member check-ins, upkeep of simulator bays and lounge environment
- Coordinate leagues, clinics, and social events to drive engagement and retention
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional facility environment at all times
- Optional: Provide private instruction or clinics in our coaching bay (instructors retain 70% revenue)
- Use our CRM / scheduling platform to track leads, follow-ups, and member usage
- Represent The Back Nine brand with professionalism, energy, and hospitality
