The Department of Interior Architecture, part of FIU’s School of Architecture, is CIDA-accredited and federally STEM-designated. With strong ties to the professional community, the department prepares students for leadership in healthcare, hospitality, workplace, cruise ship, and retail design.
The Department of Interior Architecture invites applications for a 9-month Associate or Full Professor position with tenure beginning Fall 2026. Applicants must have a graduate degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design, or a related discipline. They must demonstrate an established record of success in research and teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, as well as relevant professional experience and accomplishments. Applicants must also provide evidence of academic and professional achievements commensurate with the proposed rank at the time of hire at FIU
Applicants are preferred with a tenure track or tenured position in a School or Department of Interior Architecture or Interior Design, and/or a professional degree in Interior Architecture/Design with scholarship and/or teaching in one or more of the following areas: construction documents, design theory, lighting design, and computational design and media. The program also prefers candidates with NCIDQ Certification.
