Overview

Founded in 1898, Baltimore Country Club features 36 holes of championship golf and represents a service-oriented operation with an emphasis on tradition and gracious hospitality. BCC is one of only twelve clubs nationwide to operate on two campuses.

The A. W. Tillinghast designed Par 70 East Course, with back-to-front pitched greens, limited water hazards, and 96 bunkers, has received many honors, including making Golfweek's list of "America's Top 100 Classic Courses" (pre 1960) numerous times, most recently in 2020. It is also listed as the best Classic or Modern (post 1960 design) Course in the state of Maryland. A restoration project was completed in 2015 by Keith Foster, bringing the course back to Tillinghast's original 1924 design.

Baltimore Country Club's second course at Five Farms, the West, was redesigned in 1990 by Bob Cupp and Champions Tour member and World Golf Hall of Fame member, Tom Kite. In 2012, the course was renovated under the direction of Keith Foster. The Par 72 West Course gives members two outstanding golf courses to choose from on a daily basis.

The Club was named one of the "100 Most Prestigious Clubs in the World" by LINKS magazine. Baltimore Country Club recently debut at #103 on Club Leaders Forum's 2-24-2025 Top 150 Platinum Country Clubs of the World. The USGA lists Baltimore Country Club as one of the first 100 clubs established in the United States.

Baltimore Country Club is one of only two clubs in the world to have hosted a Men's U.S. Open, a PGA Championship, a Men's U.S. Amateur, a U.S. Walker Cup, and a U.S. Women's Open, and a Champions Tour Major.

The Club has approximately 3,300 total members, including 1,100+ season golfers. Annually the club plays roughly 40,000 rounds, with 60% played on the East Course and 40% played on the West Course. The golf season runs from April 1 st  thru October 30th weather depending.

Experience Required

• PGA certification or active participation in the PGA program.
• Must have a solid golf background with a minimum of 2 years' experience working at a private or public club, preferably a premier property.
• Must be actively pursuing PGA membership and in good standing with the PGA of America.
• Currently enrolled in level 1 at a minimum.
• A college degree is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, personable and enthusiastic and can effectively work as a team member and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher, and Golf Genius Tournament Software; knowledge of NorthStar POS and online tee time reservation system is strongly preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

The Assistant Golf Professional will be responsible for providing first-class customer service to our members and their guests daily, including oversight of one of the club's Ladies' programs in the first year. In addition to responsibilities with the Ladies' programs, the Assistant Golf Professional will assist in managing the day-to-day operations including tee time reservations, tee manager shifts, ranger shifts and golf shop coverage. This role will also be assigned specific merchandise in the golf shop to oversee throughout the season.

Our mission at Baltimore Country Club is to continually rotate our Golf Professionals into several key positions in the operation to ensure they are well rounded and better prepared for the next stages of their career.   

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

• Oversees the day-to-day operations ensuring our members and guests have a memorable experience.
• Manage one of BCC's Ladies' golf programs in first two years. Will transition into other roles in the operation to gain experience and become more well-rounded.
• Will oversee a particular category of merchandise in the golf shop to ensure proper ordering, inventory levels and overall member satisfaction.
• Assists in the development of new and innovative programming for our members and their guests to keep them engaged at the Club.
• Models' exceptional sportsmanship while providing warm, personal, and professional service.
• The Assistant Golf Professional will represent Baltimore Country Club's Simple Truth, Core Values and Mission Statement.
• Assist the instructional team in conducting golf clinics and camps.
• Play golf with Members and when appropriate host unaccompanied play.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
