Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting an Assistant F&B Manager to join the hotel's opening team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. The property boasts 287 guestrooms including 34 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who's who of Miami. Spanning 25,000 square feet of innovative indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach will become a landing spot for guests and locals seeking celebratory gatherings that embrace the city's culture of music, art, and fashion.
Andaz Miami Beach is looking for Assistant Food and Beverage Managers who are excited, qualified, hard-working, individuals with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to superior guest service. Experience with Micros, high volume, and extensive Food and Beverage Managers are all beneficial but not required. The Assistant Food and Beverage Managers is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the dining area in a restaurant, overseeing the dining room staff, maintaining a high level of customer service, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for all guests. The role involves managing daily operations, coordinating with other departments, and implementing strategies to enhance the overall dining room experience.
Duties and Functions
• Uphold company policies and procedures, including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines.
• Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled/dated and responsible for rotating and throwing away to maintain quality control.
• Portray a positive, friendly, and professional attitude at all times, always smiling and greeting guests warmly and genuinely.
• Provide help and support to all fellow colleagues.
• Perform opening side work and set up stations for restaurant, pool, and beach bar areas.
• Listen to guests and anticipate their needs.
• Properly serve wine and alcohol (with awareness).
• Complete closing side work for specific table sections and outdoor service areas.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and engaging with guests, ensuring their needs are met throughout their dining experience in the restaurant, pool, and beach bar.
• Resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and in a professional manner.
• Maintain a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere in the dining room, pool, and beach bar areas.
• Recruit, train, and supervise dining room, pool, and beach bar staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, bussers, and outdoor beverage attendants.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff knowledge and service skills, including specific protocols for pool and beach service.
• Schedule and assign duties to staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours for indoor and outdoor venues.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to promote growth and development.
• Oversee the daily operations of the dining room, pool, and beach bar, including seating arrangements, reservations, and table turnover.
• Monitor and manage table and lounge chair rotations to optimize seating capacity and minimize wait times in pool and beach areas.
• Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and coordinated service delivery across all venues.
• Monitor diners and outdoor guests to anticipate their need for attention/service.
• Maintain inventory of dining room, pool, and beach bar supplies, such as utensils, glassware, linens, and outdoor-specific items like umbrellas and towels, and coordinate restocking as needed.
• Uphold high standards of food quality, presentation, and service consistency. Resolve guests' issues with their orders.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation procedures, and specific outdoor safety protocols for pool and beach areas.
• Conduct regular inspections of the dining area, pool, and beach bar to maintain cleanliness, organization, and weather preparedness (e.g., securing furniture during inclement weather).
• Recruit, train, and supervise dining room staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff knowledge and service skills.
• Schedule and assign duties to staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to promote growth and development.
• Oversee the daily operations of the dining room, including seating arrangements, reservations, and table turnover.
• Monitor and manage table rotations to optimize seating capacity and minimize wait times.
• Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and coordinated service delivery.
• Maintain inventory of dining room supplies, such as utensils, glassware, and linens, and coordinate restocking as needed.
• Uphold high standards of food quality, presentation, and service consistency. Resolve guests' issues with their orders.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Implement strategies to attract and retain customers, such as special promotions, events, or loyalty programs tailored to pool and beach experiences.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and campaigns to promote on-premises dining and pool/beach bar services.
• Oversee setup and maintenance of pool and beach bar areas, ensuring proper arrangement of lounge chairs, cabanas, and bar equipment to enhance guest comfort and aesthetics.
• Monitor weather conditions and coordinate with staff to adjust pool and beach bar operations, such as covering or relocating service during rain or high winds.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of outdoor bar inventory, including tropical beverages, frozen drinks, and related equipment, to maintain quality and safety.
• Train staff on pool and beach-specific service protocols, such as delivering food and beverages to guests in loungers or cabanas while maintaining efficiency and professionalism.
• Coordinate special events at the pool and beach bar, such as themed parties or sunset cocktails, to enhance guest engagement and drive revenue.
• Maintain compliance with local regulations for outdoor alcohol service, including verifying age restrictions and monitoring consumption in pool and beach areas.
Qualifications
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20lbs
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the hospitality industry.
• Previous F&B experience required
