Are you excited about taking responsibility for working with a team that is focused on developing best-in-class travel and event programs for tech company employees? If so, we are currently seeking a technical program manager who brings meeting and event expertise to support functions within the Global Travel and Events program. In this role we are seeking a customer obsessed technical program manager to help build innovative solutions to delight our customers. We are looking for individuals who can dive deep, learn and be curious, and invent and simplify while delivering new products and features that improve the efficiency of the Global Travel and Events program.

As an ideal candidate, you will have a passion for the travel and events industry, including understanding how the meetings and events industry operates and the unique requirements and technology tools. You will have technical knowledge of event applications, platforms, and data ecosystems, with the ability to go deep on technical aspects to understand current and future customers' needs.

The Technical Program Manager will provide technical program support identifying, planning, and implementing solutions for our customers that challenge the norms of the travel industry. The Technical Program Manager works backwards from our customers to identify problems in current systems, understand what improvements customers desire, and work to propose and drive intuitive solutions that delight customers. The Technical Program Manager collaborates closely across the Global Travel and Events functional teams to develop new and enhanced solutions using both internally-developed and externally-sourced options. The Technical Program Manager will execute against project plans and delivery commitments, support and drive program strategy, and have responsibility for delivering key results against strategic program objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • As a meeting and event subject-matter-expert, collaborate with the Travel Technology and Data Solutions function, other functional leads and internal stakeholders to evaluate and support integrations with internal systems and tools, as well as onboarding, testing and deployment of new technology tools
  • Project management of system upgrades, enhancements, integrations and implementations
  • Develop timelines, budgets and sustainable and scalable processes that drive efficiency, standardization, and optimization
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to troubleshoot across internal and external systems
  • Research and gather global stakeholder requirements
  • Evaluate event supplier technology solutions/tools, features, capabilities
  • In partnership with function leader/s, support, drive and participate in RFI/P processes and selection of event technology tools/providers
  • Facilitate TPS assessments and security reviews by providing data and input
  • Identify opportunities for automation & optimization of existing tools
  • Trouble-shoot issues and manage escalations with technology tools and enabling systems
  • Keep current on industry trends and emerging event technologies and tools; leverage best-practices to drive innovation
  • Contribute subject-matter expertise to development of strategy, roadmaps and business reports

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of technical program/project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with common technologies and tools across the meeting and event landscape (i.e. meeting management and event marketing systems, registration and virtual event tools, mobile applications, etc.)
  • Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle of meetings and events
  • Understanding of security concepts, such as security assessments, data classifications, etc.
  • Ability to generate business insights from large data sets
  • Demonstrated ability to document functional and non-functional requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated track record of cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple technical and operations teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with engineering teams, Agile/Scrum, and/or an SDLC
  • Experience working in corporate meetings and events and/or for technical event vendors highly valued
  • Knowledge of virtual/digital technology tools preferred
  • General knowledge of the travel ecosystem
